CraftDex Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Dead Studios ("we", "us") for the CraftDex Discord bot and its leaderboard, stats, and public API.

By using CraftDex — playing it, or adding it to a Discord server — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

What CraftDex stores about you is covered in the CraftDex Privacy Policy.

Who may use CraftDex

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, and in good standing with Discord's Terms of Service. If you add CraftDex on behalf of a server or organisation, you confirm you are allowed to act for it.

Adding CraftDex to your server

If you add CraftDex to a server, you are responsible for how it is used there: choosing the channel rounds spawn in with /setup, deciding who can configure it, and making sure your members know a third-party bot is present. Server staff can see and change server-level settings; they cannot see another player's private game data through our tools.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• Farm rewards. No throwaway servers, alternate accounts, self-bots, macros, automation, or coordinated schemes created to accumulate Emeralds, items, votes, or rewards.
• Cheat or exploit. If you find a bug that hands you items, Emeralds, or progress you should not have, stop and report it. Continuing to use it is a violation.
• Abuse the service. No spamming commands, no scraping or hammering our API, no attempts to overload or gain unauthorised access to our systems, and no circumventing rate limits, blacklists, or moderation actions.
• Upload things you shouldn't. Custom collectible images, names, and reward text must not be illegal, hateful, sexual content involving minors, harassing, or infringing on someone else's rights.
• Impersonate Dead Studios, our staff, or another player.
• Resell or rebrand CraftDex, or present it as your own product.

Emeralds, cards, and everything else in the game

Emeralds, collectibles, cards, and crates exist only inside CraftDex. They:

• have no real-world monetary value,
• are not your property — you get a limited, revocable licence to use them in the game,
• cannot be sold, traded, or exchanged for real money or anything of real value, inside or outside Discord, and
• may be adjusted, reset, rebalanced, or removed at any time, including as part of balance changes, corrections after an exploit, or a full economy reset.

CraftDex sells nothing for real money. If that ever changes, we will say so clearly before you buy anything, and these terms will be updated.

Special rewards

Some crates can award a real reward offered by a server or by us (for example a code or a perk). Those rewards come from whoever created them and are subject to their own conditions and stock limits. We are not responsible for rewards created by a third-party server, and we may cancel any reward obtained through an exploit or a breach of these terms.

Enforcement

We may, at our discretion and without notice, remove your access to CraftDex, reset or remove progress, blacklist a user or a server, disable the bot in a server, or have it leave a server — most commonly in response to farming, exploiting, or abuse. Where an action is automated, you can appeal it by contacting us.

Content you submit

You keep ownership of anything you submit — images, collectible names, reward text, feedback. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and use it as needed to run CraftDex. You confirm you have the right to submit it. We may remove submitted content for any reason.

Not affiliated with Mojang, Microsoft, or Discord

CraftDex is an unofficial fan-made game. It is not approved by, associated with, or endorsed by Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios. Discord is a trademark of Discord Inc. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Our intellectual property

Dead Studios owns the CraftDex name, logo, card designs, original artwork, and code, apart from third-party material used under its own licence. Nothing here grants you the right to use our branding without permission.

Availability

CraftDex is provided free of charge with no guarantee of uptime. We may change, suspend, or shut it down at any time. Game data can be lost through failures, migrations, or resets, and we do not promise your progress will be preserved indefinitely.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

CraftDex is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dead Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost progress, or lost in-game items, arising from your use of CraftDex. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months or 10 USD.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Indemnity

You agree to cover any claims, losses, and reasonable costs we incur because of your misuse of CraftDex or your breach of these terms.

Termination

You can stop using CraftDex at any time and remove it from your servers. We can suspend or end your access as described under Enforcement. The sections on in-game items, content you submit, disclaimers, liability, and indemnity survive termination.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the last change, and continuing to play after an update means you accept it. If a change is significant, we will try to announce it.
